Well, here we are, again... well, at least to some people, who had, even if very vague, inkling of what silly was about... so, dear readers, our beloved silly is trying to get back. If you give it a little affectionate hug and glance, it certainly will. That’s a promise.

Silly (‘Silly Suburb’, yes, that’s how it goes) started as a 8 frame cartoon strip that was to explore the underbelly, by-lanes of the Bombay that had developed northwards beyond Bandra. The pitch and the panorama of our strip was yet to get prim and proper. We were yet groping… we (ourselves newcomers to the smell of the city, and especially of the genre) were just edgy and restless, wanted to poke around with our pens and 'pensieri'... paint a canvas that somehow captured the suburb we 'thought' we knew in it's truer color (something one hardly sees in the mainstream metropolitan media), and come out with a not a run of the mill strip. Provide a bit different kind of entertainment, have little fun ourselves. that was the idea. to take it around after our initial fiddling and organizing our panels, sell it to some newspaper, earn decent money and get going in a new colorful imaginative sky.

Being naive and stupid and unfamiliar with the ways of the 'new' media we foolishly kept the candle of our hope burning. Benignantly thinking that here was a strip decently provocative and nicely produced, so it would certainly find its way in to the newspaper scene! but, yes, but that was not to be the case. other than finding a page's space (as trailer of the coming spectacle) in timeout Mumbai it didn't see any print. it simply stayed in our damp bags, its nice art pages collecting dust and humidity, till slowly it was almost forgotten, even to ourselves, its lazy, wretched, hopeless creators. and then, somewhere in the dark of our creative bleaky blackness, a friend suggested why not put it on over as blog. And we wondered, why not. so, here we come. not only with silliy suburb, but there will be more of sillies. more twisted, with vigor and variety. and, yes, lot of black and white as well (we love black and white, in cinema we are black and white people!). So, get going sis ‘n bros!
